Brand New's current album 'The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me' saw the
band move their sound away from the emo style of their break through album
'Deja Entendu' and develop a dark, slightly mellow but loud sound that sits
them in a league of their own. Brand New have chosen 'Jesus' to be their
first single release from 'The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me' and will
be released on April 30th which is a day after their appearance at the Give
It A Name festival in Birmingham.
'Jesus' has been my favourite track on 'The Devil And God Are Raging
Inside Me' since I heard the album when it first came out towards the
end of 2006 and is the perfect choice to be released as a single as it
shows big changes in the bands sound in a positive way. 'Jesus' is a really
mellow song with toned down music and a mixture of sung and softly whispery
vocals coming from Jesse Lacey's mouth.
Brand New are one of the most talented bands around at the moment and
seem to change their sound and better themselves with each and every release
gaining a bigger fan base on the way. If you’re new to Brand New,
give 'Jesus' a listen and I’m pretty sure it wont be long till you
go out and purchase the bands back catalogue.
