It has been a long time coming but Lily Allen
has finally made her return to the music industry,
on Saturday John Lewis released their spectacular
yearly Xmas advert which this year featured music
of Lily Allen covering the classic Keane song
‘Somewhere Only We Know’ and now on
days on Lily Allen has unleashed her proper come
back single ‘Hard Out Here’.
‘Hard Out Here’ is a welcome return
to form for Lily Allen, the lyrics are well written
and extremely witty and see’s Allen make
fun out of the sexiest music industry and artists
who feel they have to get naked and shake their
arse to sell records, the song opens with Allen
singing “I suppose I should tell you what
this bitch is thinking you’ll find me in
the studio and not in the kitchen I won’t
be bragging ‘bout my cars or talking ‘bout
my chains don’t need to shake my ass for
you ‘cause I’ve Got a brain”
whilst the chorus see’s Allen use a bitch
of auto tune as she repeatedly sings “It’s
hard out here for a bitch”, musically the
song is extremely catchy and is bound to go straight
to number one however I wish the radios luck in
editing the word bitch out of the song as it is
featured a hell of a lot of times.
It is great to have Lily Allen back making music
as she is one of the most hard hitting and honest
female singers around and the single ‘Hard
Out Here’ and the video that goes with it
are just great and I can’t wait to see what
the next few months have in store when it comes
to here music.
5/5
