Over the past few years Teenage Bottlerockets
have quickly become one of my favourite punk rock
bands and at the moment they are really flying
the flag for Fat Wreck Chords as the band are
forever on tour and releasing music and now they
are set to release a new 7” titled ‘American
Deutsch Bag’ which see’s the band
unleash their finest German lingo whilst also
telling stories of their time touring in Germany
and also finishing up the EP with a cover of their
dear friend Tony Sly’s ‘Via Munich’.
The 7” opens with "Ich bin Ausländer
und Spreche Nicht Gut Deutsch” and the song
is a slow paced pop-punk track and it is great
to hear Teenage Bottlerocket do something they
haven’t done before a sing a song in German,
the song is a cover song and pretty much about
touring in Germany where your German language
skills suck, the song is fun and I can easily
see this becoming a fan favourite with their fans
of Germany.
‘I’m The One Smoking Marijuana Motherfucker’
is a brand new song and it is a short but fast
song about smoking reefer and it really is a short
but sweet song clocking in at 1 minute and 1 second
and in that time Teenage Bottlerocket really manage
to shred some energy as they really go for it
unleashing their well known and loved punk sound.
‘Via Munich’ is a cover of the late
Tony Sly song and it is a fantastic cover and
great Tribute from Teenage Bottlerocket to their
friend Tony Sly and is also featured on the recently
released Tony Sly tribute album.
American Deutsch Bag is a short but fun release
from Teenage Bottlerocket it features 3 songs
and runs for just over 3minutes and proves to
be a good stop gap whilst waiting for the next
Teenage Bottle Rocket album.
