American Fangs have been handpicked by Jacoby
Shaddix of Papa Roach to support them on their
December UK run of shows and it seems that American
Fangs are no strangers to sharing the stage with
well know bands as they have enjoyed playing alongside
the likes of Sevendust, Korn, A Day To Remember,
Device, Pierce The Veil and many other well established
bands in America.
To coincide with opening for Papa Roach in December
American fangs have just released their debut
5 track EP ‘Pomona’ in the UK to give
people the chance to see what they can expect
from them before they hit the stage to support
Papa Roach and if ‘Pomona’ is anything
to go by they are going to go down a storm when
they touch down in the UK and are instantly going
to gain a whole new set of fans.
The EP kicks off with the fast and furious title
track ‘Pomona’ which flows for just
under 3minutes yet within that short time the
band manage to create some outstanding music and
really draw you in with their big in your face
catchy rock N roll sounds which I can only imagine
will be so much better witnessed on the live circuit
as on record these guys sound like they have a
lot of built up energy to release.
‘Duke’ is just as catchy as the opening
track but opens in such an in your face way with
lots of gang vocals from within the band. ‘Get
The Hell On’ is a song full of adrenaline
and big catchy vocals especially as Gabe shouts
“Get the hell one” over and over again
during the big in your face chorus.
With the opening three tracks of the EP American
Fangs have shown that they seriously know how
to rock and then track 4 ‘Sorry’ kicks
in and the band go down a toned down acoustic
route and it it happens to be a beautiful route
for the band to go down as Gabe sings his heart
out with really big meaningful lyrics.
The EP closes with a demo version of one of the
bands old tracks “Le Kick’ and with
it being a old track and a demo version it features
more power and attitude than all the tracks on
the EP combined and is easily going to be the
track which helps cause the most mayhem in the
pit during the bands live shows in December.
After giving Pomona a listen it is safe to say
that I am now a new fan of American Fangs as they
are a fantastic energetic band who sure know how
to pen some killer tunes and it is now only a
matter of weeks before they can show the UK what
they can do on the live circuit whilst opening
for Papa Roach.
