Glamour Of The Kill - SavagesGlamour Of The Kill – Savages

I thought they were dead and gone! I hadn’t seen anything come from the guys since their debut album “The Summoning” which was hugely successful and I personally loved it. With the success and following they’d already gained from their first 2 EP’s and the huge press attention they had winning awards and all sorts of accolades already under their belt it turns out the reason I haven’t heard from them is they’ve been jetting all over the world! So this one somehow managed to surprise me when I band I actively love never usually manage to get one past me.

With the way I felt about “The Summoning” it was already a high bar to jump over with “Savages” but I must say they’ve surpassed that by miles looking out over the past album as a dot in the horizon. Album opener “Break” sets the pace and by God is it a bruiser of a song with truly infectious vocal lines and melodies, it’s a fantastic song but easily the most infectious song on the album follows it; “Second Chance” has the one of the best choruses I have ever heard as it’s just so soothing and memorable and the structure for the whole song is phenomenal making it easily my favourite from the whole album. Honestly it’s one of the catchiest albums I’ve ever listened to and its great to see they’re staying true to themselves when so many bands like Bullet For My Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold are trying to change their sounds.

So there we have it; EP’s were fantastic, debut album was a complete success and their follow up has surpassed the lot of them, their scorecard is still perfect as it stands which not many bands can say these days, not only that but on their from York which puts them right up the top of the British scene which is something we can all be proud of and support on with faith. I would recommend it, I have 5 star rated every song on the record and I listen to it almost obsessively since I received it and that just about says it all.

5/5
