Northern Ireland rockers The Answer are have been
around for 13 years now and are set to release
their fourth studio album ‘New Horizon’
any day now and the album is easily the most solid
album that the band have released in their career
so far with the album running for just under 40minutes
and featuring 10 tracks which are bound to become
instant mosh pit anthems.
The album opens with the big and bouncy title
track ‘New Horizon’ the song is the
perfect opener for the album and really sets the
pace for the next 40minutes. Once the chorus kicks
in and Cormac Neeson will have you singing from
the top of your voice along with him as he shouts
out “I settled for a new horizon, wanna
break through for a new horizon”.
‘Leave With Nothin’ is another solid
rock n’ roll track which sounds like something
you would expect from Led Zepplin or Deep Purple
back in the 70’s, the song is massive sounding
and from start to finish you will be impressed
with the massive riffs and catchy basslines.
‘Spectacular’ is the lead single to
be taken from the album and the song really does
live up to its title as the song has Cleary been
written for the live circuit and is the kind of
song which is guaranteed to get a crowd of people
jumping for joy and it doesn’t matter if
The Answer are playing to 100 or 10,000 people
this song will truly bring a venue to life especially
when the epic chorus kicks in.
‘Speak Now’ see’s The Answer
tone things done a bit and go down a more slow
paced darker route where over time the song starts
to build up into a catchy number where Cormac
Neeson screams out “speak now or forever
hold your tongue” over and over again, whilst
a tasty guitar solo graces the airwaves towards
the later part of the song.
‘Somebody Else’ is a big and bouncy
sounding track which sounds totally different
from anything else on the album as the song has
a bit of a punk edge running through it and the
drum beats from James Heatley are just fantastic
and really help drive the song.
‘Call Yourself A Friend’ see’s
The Answer go down the slow paced balled route
and it works extremely well as you take in each
and every word Cormac Neeson sings out. ‘Burn
You Down’ is a big catchy fist pumping song,
whilst the album closer ‘Scream a Louder
Love’ is easily one of the best songs on
the album closing the album in such a solid way
whilst also sounding slightly like everyone’s
favourite Glastonbury rockers Reef.
‘New Horizon’ is easily one of the
best rock albums I have heard this year and The
Answer really do deserve to achieve major success
with the release of it.
