The last time we saw and heard about You Me At
Six they just finished off the touring cycle for
their third studio album ‘Sinners Never
Sleep’ which ended with a massive headline
show at Wembley Arena and since then they have
had a little break and also signed a new record
deal with BMG and are now back with their brand
new single ‘Lived A Lie’ which is
due for release on the 21st October with their
fourth studio album ‘Cavalier Youth’
due for release in early 2014.
With ‘Lived A Lie’ You Me At Six have
shown how you do a perfect come back as the song
is fantastic and easily one of the most mature
songs they have ever written which is a big statement
considering how they stepped up their game and
went down a serious route with their third studio
album ‘Sinners Never Sleep’. From
the start ‘Lived A Lie’ kicks arse
with its big electronic guitar riffs and Josh
Franceschi’s huge vocals with soar during
the melodic chorus but it is the middle of the
song when the marching band style drumming and
gang vocals come in that you start to realise
that after 9 years in the music industry You Me
At Six are really ready to take the music scene
by storm with their big pop-punk-alt-rock sound
which is going to see them play arenas on a regular
basis.
‘Lived A Lie’ is easily one of the
best songs that You Me At Six have created and
it is also going to see the band expand their
fan base as the song is going to appeal to a wide
variety of people and just weeks after the single
is released You Me At Six are to head out on the
road supporting 30 Seconds To Mars at arenas across
the country before heading to Australia to support
Paramore which shows to me that the last couple
of months of 2013 are exciting for You Me At Six
but it is 2014 when the real fun begins once album
number four drops.
