Over the past couple of weeks Katy Perry has been
teasing the world with little videos running up
to the debut of her brand new single ‘Roar’
and it is safe to say that the super sweet candy
image is long gone and Katy Perry has now gone
retro with bomber jackets, bling and tiger print.
‘Roar’ is the first single to be taken
from her fourth studio album ‘Prism’
which is due for release in October and is easily
one of the most catchy pop songs I have heard
in a long time as on first listen you become sucked
into the catchy nature of the song and after the
second or third listen you will find yourself
singing “You held me down, but I got up
already brushing off the dust you hear my voice,
you hear that sound like thunder, gonna shake
the ground you held me down, but I got up get
ready ‘cause I’ve had enough I see
it all I see it now” and “I got the
eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the
fire ‘Cause I am a champion and you’re
gonna hear me ROAR”
Overall ‘Roar’ is a simple sounding
pop song with well written catchy lyrics which
may sounds cheesy the more you think about them
but they have the knack of being lodged in your
brain causing you to sing-a-long at the top of
your lungs to this well produced smooth sounding
pop anthem which I am sure is going to leave her
fans counting down the days until ‘Prism’
drops in October.
