For All The Wrong Reasons are a 5 piece band from
Lincoln who formed at the start of 2013 and they
are already set to release their debut 5 track
EP ‘We’re Not Losing We’re Just
Not Winning’ on Monday 26th August.
Considering that these guys have only been together
for 8 months maximum they have done well creating
their debut EP as all the songs seem well written,
well executed and well produced and as for the
song titles they have gone down the Fall Out Boy
meets Panic! At The Disco route with really long
random song titles such as ‘Who Died And
Made You King Of The Zombies?’ and ‘It’s
Not Me With The Problem, It’s Everyone Else’.
Musically the EP is a big bouncy and catchy affair,
the opening track ‘These Past Few Years
Haven’t Been So Kind’ bounces through
ever so quickly with pop-punk coming out your
speakers with ever so gritty vocals coming and
going throughout. ‘Who Died And Made You
King Of The Zombies?’ opens up with even
more bounce than the opening track of the EP with
a few shouty moments thrown in for good measures.
‘It Always Rains (Except when It Snows)’
opens up with force and happens to be the strongest
track on the EP due to its more fast paced and
hard hitting instrumental work and the chanty
backing vocals which sound so good.
‘It’s Not Me With The Problem, It’s
Everyone Else’ is a full on powerful track
where Alex Statham really let’s rip with
his gritty vocals whilst the rest of the band
really go for it instrumentally laying down some
massive riffs and top notch drum beats. ‘Worn
Out’ closes the EP in a big guitar driven
pop-punk way with an epic sing-a-long final 20
seconds.
Overall For All The wrong reasons are come on
a long way in their short time as a band and the
only criticism I have is that that despite all
5 tracks on the EP being solid sounding they also
sound slightly like a different band have played
each and every track as there is no consistency
to the music but then this could be down to the
fact that these guys have only been together for
the matter of months and are experimenting to
the best of their abilities.
