Back to The Bus is a fun new series of compilation albums but a bit more
unique to most compilation albums due to the fact each series is based on
one band and they choose a compilation of songs of what they listen to when
they’re on their tour bus touring around the country. Babyshambles
and The Paddington’s have been the past bands included on the Back
To The Bus series and now it’s time for Funeral For A Friend to give
their fans an insight of what music they like to listen to on the bus in
between shows.
Funeral For A Friends 'Back To The Bus Compilation' features fourteen
tracks and shows how open minded to music the band really are with the
compilation opening with Queen's 'Don’t Stop Me Now' a bit of Megadeth
with 'Holy Wars' in the middle and finishing with Johnny Cash 'Folsom
Prison Blues'.
There’s quite a lot of classic rock and roll on the album with
Van Halen 'Ain't Talking About Love', Boston's 'More Than A Feeling' and
some Black Sabbath with 'Black Sabbath'. There is also a lot of heavy
metal with songs from Pantera, Megadeth, The Haunted and the classic Earthtone9
which really reminds me how good Earthtone9 were and is the highlight
of the compilation to me.
The cd does come with a few extras with an exclusive Funeral For A Friend
live track and an exclusive interview with the band, so the band are actually
included on the compilation as well as their favourite tracks to listen
to.
Overall the compilation is a pretty random mixture and wont appeal to
everyone but if you own or like a few of the songs here it’s definitely
worth checking out, and if your a hardcore Funeral For A Friend fan I’m
pretty sure the cd is already sitting nicely in your collection.
3.5/5
