Birmingham Trio Templeton Pek formed back in 2008
and wasted no time trying to make a name for themselves
by releasing their debut album soon after forming
and touring as much as possible, but it has been
the past 12 months which has seen Templeton Pek
go from strength to strength with the release
of their latest EP ‘Slow Down For Nothing’
and constant touring, however in-between all this
Templeton Pek found time to create their third
studio album ‘Signs’ which is due
for release on the 22nd April.
‘Signs’ features 11 tracks and runs
for just under 40minutes and it is easily the
best album Templeton Pek have created so far as
from the start the album is full of big catchy
energetic moments that is really going to grab
the listeners attention and from time to time
you may think you have put a Rise Against album
on as some of the songs sound so close to Rise
Against which is no wonder really after Templeton
Pek spent a lot of time on the road with them.
‘Who We Are’ opens the album in a
banging way with hard hitting riffs and drum beats
and as soon as Neal Mitchel comes in with his
vocals he has you in the palm of his hands as
he sings his heart out whilst letting off a big
diverse set of vocals which change from being
soft and slow to high and fast in the matter of
seconds.
The opening instrumental moments of ‘Trial
And Error’ are fantastic as the band come
in one by one with their instruments during the
first 20 seconds before they solidly jam away
as a band for a further 15 seconds before Neal
Mitchel comes in like a whirlwind with his big
loud and clear catchy vocals.
The track on the album which stands out the most
is the current single ‘What Are You Waiting
for’ as it starts off in a big orchestra
kind of way and before you know it Templeton Pek
are gracing the airwaves in their big punk rock
sing-a-long way.
With ‘Sign’s Templeton Pek have created
a monster of an album which you won’t be
able to stop listening to once you have pressed
the play button as the sounds coming through your
speakers will instantly be pleasing on your ears.
