West Midlands four piece Jet Pack have spent the
last couple of years touring with the likes of
The Hype Theory, General Fiasco, Attention Thieves,
Hildamay and also played acoustic shows before
Blink 182 and Biffy Clyro took to the stage at
the massive LG Arena in Birmingham, the band have
also managed to spend some solid time in the studio
with Matt O’Grady and are now ready to release
their new 6 track EP ‘Chasing Sunsets’.
‘Chasing Sunsets’ opens with the bands
current single ‘Back To Life’ and
it a big energetic blast of energy as the band
unleash their brand of pop punk with a slight
rock n roll edge which is clearly shown off towards
the end of the song as band solidly jam out.
‘Now I Know How John Locke Felt’ pays
homage to everyone’s favourite TV show Lost
and John Locke who was forever being told he couldn’t
do things, lyrically the song is well written
with Dennis Cook singing out “Don’t
ever tell me that I’m not good enough”,
whilst the band solidly lay down some bouncy sounding
instrumental work as a big melodic pop-punk vibe
runs throughout.
‘The Heat Of The Moment’ is more of
a straight up rock n roll song, it starts off
in quite a toned down way, yet over time in builds
up into quite a powerhouse of a track. The EP
title track ‘Chasing Sunsets’ features
Lauren Pryke on guest vocals and the song is a
beautiful sounding laid back acoustic number which
is full of passion and honesty as Jet Pack really
grab your attention and the more you take the
lyrics in the more you will end up relating to
the song. ‘All I Need’ has future
single written all over it as Jet Pack smash their
way down the alt-rock route in such a solid way.
The EP closes with ‘This Is The End’
which is another solid rock n roll track yet this
time the instrumental work does all the talking.
Jet Pack have created a very accessible EP with
‘Chasing Sunsets’ and look set to
be continuing their already successful journey
in the music industry.
