 
Black Star Riders are a brand new band on the
horizon made up of ex Thin Lizzy members Ricky
Warwick, Damon Johnson, Scott Gorham and Marco
Mendoza together with drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (Alice
Cooper/ Megadeth), the band was formed after Thin
Lizzy started work on a new album but decided
that it wouldn’t be right to release new
material under the Thin Lizzy name so Thin Lizzy
quickly headed out on a final farewell tour as
the Black Star Riders were then born.
‘Bound For Glory’ has all the elements
of a classic Thin Lizzy song and so it should
after the members of the band have been touring
solidly for the past 4 years or so playing Thin
Lizzy songs, the song is extremely catchy especially
when the chorus kicks in and Ricky Warwick sings
out “Bound For Glory” in such a melodic
way with backing vocals of “Bound For Glory”
coming in a couple of seconds later, the guitar
work is fantastic with duel guitar work going
on but it is Damon Johnson’s solo which
stands out the most.
I feel that Black Star Riders are instantly going
to be a hit they already have the backing of thousands
of Thin Lizzy fans, they also have the respect
from thousands of other music fans due to the
fact that they rightfully left the Thin Lizzy
name how Phil Lynott would of wanted it and took
the gamble to start up a whole new band and now
their first single ‘Bound For Glory’
has radio air play written all over it is just
enough to keep the fans entertained until their
album drops towards the end of May.
