The Ripps - Long Live The RippsThe Ripps - Long Live The Ripps

If you are a regular viewer of this site you will probably know how much I have been looking forward to listening to this album after hearing the bands current single 'Loco' which happens to be one of the most happiest upbeat pop punk songs I have heard in a long time. The Ripps are one of the most entertaining catchy bands around at the moment.

The album opens up with the bands awesome new single 'Loco' which sets the pace for such a happy upbeat album and believe it or not the album just seems to get better. Track 2 'Vandals' is a song The Ripps have previously released as a single and is another catchy sing a long number.

Track 3 'Hypocrite' a fun but serious song and sounds quite like the Sex Pistols in places making 'Hypocrite' the stand out track on the album due to the change of vocal styles, good track. 'Stranger' is a bit of a slower number but does pick up in pace for the choruses.

'Holiday' is my favourite track on the album and is a song about having weekends away at the seaside and spending most of your time getting drunk in Weatherspoons. The song is really a catchy fast paced ska song with a bit of a Supergrass feel about it. It is definitely the kind of song to listen to when you need cheering up. 'You Don't Even Care' is another great song that you will be singing along to in no time.

'COV Song' is the shortest track on the album clocking it at just 1 minute and 23 seconds, and is a pure fast poppy punk number, it’s nothing special but still a good track.

The album finishes with 'I Don’t like You Any More' which features extremely fast vocals throughout and a bit of a repetitive chorus of "I don't like you any more, I don't like you any more, I don't like you any more". Not a great track to be honest. If you leave the last track running for a couple of minutes after it’s finished you will be treated to a bonus track which is a cover of The Specials 'Too Much Too Young' and it sounds so good as well.

The Ripps are awesome and if you are looking for a fast catchy happy English band who don’t take themselves to seriously, look no further than The Ripps as they are becoming one of the best bands on the scene at the moment and with a album as good as this you can see why.
