Back towards the end of 2012 after various different
side projects Alkaline Trio announced that they
had regrouped to start work on their ninth studio
album and since then their fans have been left
wondering when they can expect new material and
today Alkaline Trio have broke that silence and
announced that their ninth studio album is to
be called ‘My Shame Is True’ and it
is due for release on the 1st April and will once
again be released on Heart And Skull Records via
Epitaph Records, along with the album announcement
Alkaline Trio announced that the lead single from
the album is to be ‘I Wanna Be A Warhol’
and they instantly released an lyric video on
You Tube.
When it comes to new Alkaline Trio music you pretty
much know what you are going to get before you
press play, the only thing that really changes
from time to time is who takes control of lead
vocals out of Matt Skiba and Dan Andriano and
‘I Wanna Be A Warhol’ sticks to this
formula with Matt Skiba taking on the lead vocals,
the song is really fast and melodic sounding and
is instantly going to be a fan favourite.
Many people criticise Alkaline Trio for never
upping their game and always sticking to the same
style, but why after 8 studio albums would Alkaline
Trio want to go down a different route when after
all they have one of the most dedicated fan bases
out there who have stuck with them through the
years and will continue to do so for as long as
the band continues, roll on April the 1st when
‘My Shame Is True’ is released.
