Funeral For A Friend are set to release their
sixth studio album ‘Conduit’ on the
28th January and if the first single to be taken
from the album ‘Best Friends And Hospital
Beds’ and their forthcoming single ‘The
Distance’ is anything to go by then 2013
is going to be their year as it seems that Funeral
For A Friend have recharged their batteries and
come back in a frantic way.
‘The Distance’ deals with the subject
of life on the road and how hectic it can be driving
all over the country on a mammoth tour and this
pretty much coincides with the bands forthcoming
tour with starts in a couple of weeks and see’s
them tour all over the UK for the next 2-3 months.
Musically the song is massive opening with a mad
flurry of drum beats which clearly shows that
Funeral For A Friend have a new found drive now
ex Rise To Remain’s drummer Pat Lundy is
behind the kit as he makes a massive impact with
his drum beats whilst the rest of the band rock
out as if their lives depended on it, vocally
Matt Davies is at the top of his game with a mixture
of heavy shouts and melodic moments.
The only downside about the song is that it ends
rather abruptly leaving you wanting more but that
is nothing that pressing the play button again
can’t correct.
