Well well well! My new favourite British thrashers
have returned! I was personally hand given this
by the band themselves during our interview at
this year’s Bloodstock Festival, after I
reviewed their debut EP “Psycho Intentions”
in the not too recent past I was absolutely head
over heels. There is so much more to the bands
style than your run of the mill generic thrash,
they take some of the best things from that genre
and infuse it with a more melodic side, a softer
metalcore influence in regards to heavy yet slow
riffs, a strong tinge of heavy metal too if I’m
going for accuracy.
It’s hard to believe that this band is from
the depths of southern England and is barely even
on the map, with such a distinctive full sound
that I can’t really compare against anything.
I was confused for a little while when I was listening
to “Heaven Waits/Hell Takes” as it
sounded familiar I was sure I’d heard it
before now, turns out it was on the EP and it’s
just as I remember; heavy breakdowns, technical
distorted riffs, cleaner technical riffs and a
vast range in vocal work from the gritty screams
to the 80’s thrash infused heavy metal melodies
that are just hauntingly infectious.
I can feel a tiny amount of Evile, influence from
Iron Maiden and Testament just to name a few,
it’s “Infernal Conflict” that
provided me with those comparisons, it can be
really fast paced and heavy but not all the time
and the transitioning is perfect, also kudos on
the wicked guitar solos as well. “World
Detonation” is the longest track on the
album at a staggering 8 minutes 59 seconds, but
you wouldn’t even notice that it was that
long as it just flows through as the minutes feel
like seconds twisting and turning through different
paces and levels of tone.
Debut album followed up with ease from an extremely
impressionable first EP, festival appearances
under their belts and a huge tour on the way,
start how you wish to continue indeed! If they
carry on like this for their entire careers they’ll
be about as unstoppable as the fucking Hulk.
