Attention Thieves - Look A Little CloserAttention Thieves - Look A Little Closer

Attention Thieves are a new band on the music scene but when it comes to music they are no newbie’s as the members of the band have played in various different bands over the years including renowned tech-metal band The Arusha accord, ever since Attention Thieves formed they have been busy making a name for themselves on the live circuit but also managed to find some time out to write and record their debut EP ‘Look A Little Closer’.

As soon as the opening track ‘You’ll Be The First One’ starts you instantly know that the EP is going to be a pleasure to listen to and also that attention Thieves are a super talented band who need to be watched over the next couple of years as they have a solid sound where they play loud fast and clear.

‘Bring Yourself to Justice’ is a big sounding straight up rock and roll track where the guitar riffs are beefy, the vocals are clear and beautiful sounding, whilst the raw shouty backing vocals adds extra chunkiness to the song.

‘Can’t Say’ is another beast of a song with crunching riffs, big chant-a-long vocals and generally a massive sounding 3minute jamming session where Attention Thieves proper rock out whilst creating the stand out track of the EP.

‘We Won’t Live Forever’ closes the EP and it showcases Attention Thieves as a band who like to experiment with their sound as the song opens with a massive flurry of big sounding instrumental work before dipping back down to let the softly sounding vocals come in before building up again with a loud moment of instrumental noise before dipping back down again and so on.

Listening to ‘Look A Little Closer’ makes me want to head out and check out attention Thieves on the live circuit as they have such a big sound that I feel will get the crowd going on a mad stampede at their live shows and you always know that a band is onto a winner when they can capture the energy of their live show on record and I feel that is just what Attention Thieves have done with ‘Look A Little Closer’, a predict a bright future for these guys.
