Scholars have spent the most of 2011 keeping themselves
extremely busy on the live circuit supporting a
number of well known bands like Letlive, The Computers,
Young Guns, The Xcerts, Max Raptor man many others
and when they haven’t been on the road they
have been busy working on new material and ‘Bad
For Business’ happens to be the bands next
single which is due for release on the 27th February.
‘Bad For Business’ is a song written
from the perspective of an employee at the bottom
of the food chain and it is full of cheeky frustration
and humour, musically the song is extremely infectious
and fun with a lot going on at any one time and
is see’s a punk energy and vibe mixed with
rocking riffs.
The B-side ‘Show Some Enthusiasm‘
is also quite an infectious number which relays
on backing vocals of “woooooah woooooah”
to really get the song going, the drum beats are
tinny sounding, the riffs are fast and the vocals
are quite high pitched and at moments the whole
band come together for a real positive 10 seconds
at a time all out rocking stint where maximum
energy is used.
I will defiantly be keeping a close eye on Scholars
as they are a really positive sounding band who
have a knack at creating catchy songs.
4/5
