+44 are currently back in the UK doing a six date tour across the UK minus
Travis Barker on drums due to him breaking his arm a few months back. To
coincide with the tour, +44 are releasing the title track to their album
'When Your Heart Stops Beating' as a single.
Since I first heard the +44 album I thought 'When Your Heart Stops Beating'
is the best song on the album and there is no wonder why the band have
decided to release it as their first single. The track starts off with
a huge fast electro introduction, Travis Barkers’ drumming is constant
and outstanding and the song is totally full of breakdowns. The b-side
to the single is an aol music sessions of 'Baby Come On' which is one
of the most slowest songs on the +44 album and gives Mark Hoppus the chance
to shine with his fast memorable chorus but on this version of the song
this isn’t the case as Marks vocals sound very out of tune.
Releasing 'When Your Heart Stops beating' as a single is a very good
move for +44 and will gain the band a lot of fans if the song starts to
get a lot of airplay due to how fast and catchy it is, and don’t
let the b-side put you off seeing +44 live.
3.5/5
