When Limp Bizkit reformed back in 2009 and went
on to play the Download and Sonisphere festival
in the UK, there was hype and excitement from
music fans all across the world and their performances
at these festivals were amazing with thousands
of fans coming out in force to watch Fred Durst
and co rock out again, not long after these performances
Limp Bizkit announced that they were working on
a new studio album called ‘Gold Cobra’
and that it would be released in early 2010 but
a year and a half on from that date Limp Bizkit
are finally ready to unleash ‘Gold Cobra’
to the world with a release date scheduled for
the 27th June, but in the meantime they have just
released their brand new single ‘Shotgun’.
After being away from the music scene for so long
and the poor songs featured on the last Limp Bizkit
record ‘The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1)’
and also the major delay of new material I really
did not know what to expect of new Limp Bizkit
material but after listening to ‘Shotgun’
a few times over it is clear to say that Limp
Bizkit are back bigger and better than anyone
ever imaged, ‘Shotgun’ is one big
kick arse mosh pit anthem and it has everything
that you have come to expect from a Limp Bizkit
song from Fred’s loud and clear unique vocals
all the way to Borland’s fantastic guitar
riffs, but the main quality is that Limp Bizkit
have managed to craft a real upbeat repetitive
track that is instantly going be listed in the
top 5 Limp Bizkit tracks with most fans.
It is good to see Limp Bizkit back and I believe
that after hearing ‘Shotgun’ and ‘Why
Try’ that ‘Gold Cobra’ is going
to be one hell of a fantastic album when it is
released on the 27th June and it is going to reinstate
Limp Bizkits place in the rock scene and guarantee
that they will be breaking stuff for many more
years to come.
