Bad Sign have been together for 18 months now
and in that time they have been constantly on
the road touring but also managed to put some
time aside to write and record their new EP ‘Exit’
which is due for release on the 25th April.
As soon as you put on ‘Exit’ you will
be reminded of the early material of Biffy Clyro
because the sound that Bad Sign has really does
come close to the early days of Biffy Clyro where
everything sounds really tight, the instrumental
work is pretty experimental in places with some
fantastic guitar riffs on offer throughout, and
the vocals are straight up rock and roll vocals
where they are not to melodic but just right.
The EP features 5 tracks and opens with ‘Unknown’
a song which features a really atmospheric introduction
where each instrument takes it’s time to
come in at such a slow pace until things fully
kick off during the upbeat chorus which soars
through at a great pace.
‘Existence’ is another great song
which follows on with pretty much the same formula
of an atmospheric introduction and yet again comes
to life with the huge vocally impressive chorus.
‘Eclipse’ has the best introduction
out of all the tracks on the EP and reminds me
very slightly of Tool, but once again it is the
chorus which brings the song to life and the energy
and upbeat sound of the chorus is bound to go
down a storm in the pit at the bands future gigs
as it has so much get up and go running through.
Each as every track on the EP features the same
winning formula and you can tell from this early
stage that Bad Sign are crying out to raise the
roofs off the biggest arenas across the country
and if they keep up the hard work their day may
well come in a few years.
