When I realised that Rise Against are to release
a new album in March I was instantly excited as
they are one of my favourite bands sitting just
under the mighty Alkaline Trio, so you could also
imagine my reaction when I heard that Matt Skiba
was also set to guest on the album, well I may have
to wait until March for that but the band have just
unveiled ‘Help Is On The Way’ which
happens to be their brand new single and first song
taken from the new album.
‘Help Is On The Way’ features the
same old happy/sad political themes that Rise
Against have been singing about for many years
now with hurricane Katarina being the point of
interest this time and I think everything within
the song from the lyrics, vocals, fast paced guitars
to the hefty drum beats is spot on, musically
there is hardly any progress from their last album
‘Appeal To Reason’ but then why change
a winning formula.
Rise Against are everything that punk rock is
about and they have worked their assess off to
get to the top of their game and ‘Help Is
On The Way’ proves that there is plenty
more gas in the tank for Rise Against, the next
few months are going to be very rosy for these
guys.
5/5
