During the 90’s I was a huge rap fan but over
recent years the rap scene has been pretty much
non exciting and very unappealing but all that could
be about to change thanks to brand new rap artist
Hyro De Hero and his rap band Hyro who are set to
release their single ‘Ghetto Ambiance’
very soon.
‘Ghetto Ambiance’ heavily sounds
like Rage Against The Machine from the heavily
Zack De La Rocha influenced vocals to the bouncy
basslines and crunching guitar riffs but considering
that the band features ex members of At The Drive
In, Sparta, The Mars Volta and Blood Brothers
you wouldn’t expect anything other than
a mad punk-funk-rap combo which works extremely
well and lets out major oomph in the process.
The B-side is ‘Man In The City’ which
is a more pure full on rap track, the vocals are
strong sounding with a squeaky tinge to them,
the song is quite catchy with beats a plenty on
offer, it is totally different from the main single
and shows the diverse sound that Hyro are going
for.
Overall Hyro are here to take the rap and rock
scene by storm and are out to get that cross over
effect and feel that bands such as Cypress Hill
have done in the past and only time will tell
if it pays of, and for the time being I really
recommend you checking out ‘Ghetto Ambiance’.
4/5
