Taken from highly-rated debut album ‘Dirty Kicks’ Newport’s
The Fondas combine Ash style guitar hooks and husky vocals that make for
a decent effort with big choruses and summertime vibes. This single is instantly
likeable and is inoffensive good time fun that is easy to listen to. It
is like every good song you’ve ever heard mixed into one 3 minute
pop punk track. The front cover is awesome too. Call me crazy, but I can
even here a bit of Radiohead Creep in the bridge. Maybe it’s just
me.
The b-side ‘Strange honey’ is edgier, darker and heavier,
definitely acting on the Radiohead influence, only with a Guns n’
Roses style solo in the middle to add a slice of cheese to what had the
otential of being a good song. There is also a cool acoustic live version
of ‘Get out’ on there too.
