The Last Republic have recently supported The
Charlatans and The Levellers on the road and have
managed to clock up a steady fan base at the same
time, the band are due to release their new single
‘CCTV’ on the 15th October with their
debut album ‘Parade’ to follow on
the 1st November.
‘CCTV’ is the first I have ever heard
of The Last Republic and I have to say that I
love what I am hearing the band have this soaring
indie sound that is bound to raise the roofs of
venues across the country, the song just instantly
flows at a fast catchy pace from the opening organ
sounds right until the fading out space age sounds
of the outro.
Jonnie Owen’s vocals are a gem especially
during the beautifully sung chorus which is catchier
than the common cold in this day and age, the
breakdowns are fantastic and just as you think
the song is about to step back into first gear
it speeds up again and takes you on another thrilling
journey.
As far as indie music goes I believe that The
Last Republic will have a very bright future and
will be a band to keep your eye on over the next
few years.
