You may remember a few years ago when I gave a band
called Smudge some fantastic reviews, well sadly
the band came to an end towards the end of last
year but Jack and Gary decided that they still wanting
to be in an band and in the music scene and that
was made all so much easier when they met up with
Mark and Scott and formed Tall Trees.
Tall Trees have been busy working on new material
and tours throughout the year and have now just
released their debut single ‘Give It Up’
as a free download on their MySpace.
‘Give It Up’ is a great side and
really shows off the mature sound that Tall Trees
have gone for, the song starts off at a slow pace
with the bouncy bassline setting the groove for
the song, when the song hits the 30second mark
it goes off into a loud and fast melodic sing-a-long
of “Give It Up, You Can Give It Up, Give
It Up, Wooaah”, the song gets better the
longer it progresses especially with the fantastic
guitar solo and general jamming session after
the 2minutes mark and the best thing about the
song is just how much Jack’s vocals have
changed since his days in Smudge.
Smudge were good but Tall Trees is the next chapter
in the lives of Jack, Gary and co and they are
easily going to get the same success that Smudge
got but more of it and in no time at all, I can’t
wait to see what else these guys have to offer.
5/5
