My cousin had only just updated his status on Facebook
saying that he had just seen Motion Picture Soundtrack
at Camden Underworld and that Foxy Shazam were the
support band and how they were the most intense
live band he has ever seen, it then clicked with
me that I have the band’s debut UK single
‘Oh Lord’ in my pile of material to
review and instantly decided to give it a listen
and was pleasantly surprised.
‘Oh Lord’ is such a random yet energetic
and beautiful song, the vocals coming from Nally
are fantastic and so unique sounding, the lyrics
are fun and well written, the chorus is massive
sounding and the choir in the background is simple
breathtaking, the song is so powerful from start
to finish which makes it so easy to work out why
they chose to release ‘Oh Lord’ as
their lead single.
Foxy Shazam sound fantastic on record and ‘Oh
Lord’ has proved that, but I now wonder
what I am missing out on having never seen Foxy
Shazam live but that will soon change as foxy
Shazam have instantly been added to my must see
new band list.
5/5
