 
Union Sound Set are the latest alternative rock
band to be unleashed upon us and they have already
completed tours with high profile bands such as
Fightstar, The Boxer Rebellion, The Stills, Red
Light Company and People In Planes and since then
they have taken on new guitarist Dan Best and
are set to release their first single ‘Hiding
Places’ since working with a brand new line
up.
‘Hiding Places’ is a beautiful sounding
indie song where the vocals flow at such a great
pace and ooze in style and sound, the instrumental
work in quite basic and toned down sounding but
there are some fantastic soundscapes that come
and go throughout the song giving it a slight
eerie feel.
The b-side ‘Parachutes And Flying Machines’
is even more toned down than the main single release
and really does focus on the mellow instrumental
work and beautiful soundscapes to grab your attention
and it surely does do that as the song is so thrilling
to listen to from start to finish and the instrumental
work will leave the hairs on your spine standing
up.
If you remember the rock band Prego then you will
be half way to knowing who Union Sound Set are
as they are made up of Edd Simpson, Simon Brifcliffe
and Caspar Williamson from Prego with Alex Walker
and Dan Best added to the mix to help create a
whole new band who have a whole new set of ideas
and goals which they may well reach.
