The Gaslight Anthem -Diamond Church Street Choir/ BoxerThe Gaslight Anthem –Diamond Church Street Choir/ Boxer

The Gaslight Anthem have recently released their brand new album ‘American Slang’ and they are not wasting much time in getting new singles released as they have just announced that they are a releasing ‘Boxer’ and ‘The Diamond Church Street Choir’ as a double A side single on the 9th August.

‘The Diamond Church Street Choir’ is one of the songs that stood out to me the most when I first listened to ‘American Slang’ so I can easily understand why they have chose to release it as a single, it has that classic Gaslight Anthem feel about it and runs at such a smooth pace where the chorus is big and catchy and everything in-between features so much groove.

‘Boxer’ also flows at a great pace, it is so damn catchy and so damn beautiful sounding with Brian Fallon’s vocals sounding bigger and better than ever, the song is about believing in yourself and standing your ground and the lyrics capture the whole theme in such a great theme with lyrics of “I remember when I knew a boxer baby, and your tattooed knuckles oh how they grind down, try to be a man tough just like your father, try to settle down, more like calm down”.

This double A-side release is The Gaslight Anthem taking yet another massive leap forward and they will continue to do so until they have conquered the Academy sized venues and moved on swiftly to arenas.
