The Ex Million Dead front man Frank Turner has become
a superstar since leaving the band back in 2005
and the reason why he has become a superstar is
down to a number of things, first of all he was
in a well established band for many years, he is
forever out on the road touring playing massive
headline shows and pretty much every festival he
can get signed up to whilst supporting massive bands
in-between such as his recent shows supporting Green
Day at Milton Keynes and Manchester and the final
yet most important reason is the fact that he has
a knack to write killer song after killer song and
anyone who has been hooked on his latest album ‘Poetry
Of The Deed’ will know exactly what I mean.
At the start of August Frank Turner heads out
to America to play a few shows and to coincide
with that he is releasing his new single ‘Try
This At Home’ on the 2nd August.
I remember hearing Frank Turner playing ‘Try
This At Home’ back stage at Glastonbury
Festival live on the BBC and was instantly hooked
due to the sheer passion and enjoyment that Frank
Turner was showing during the short set, the song
features a great theme and is all about what punk
rock means to Frank Turner and has a really big
punk rock sound in the style of Flogging Molly,
the song is short and sweet clocking in at just
under 2minutes but I am sure anyone can spend
a few hours at a time listening to the song over
and over again without getting bored.
It is so easy to see why Frank Turner has decided
to release ‘Try This At Home’ because
it is the best song featured on his latest album
‘Poetry Of The Deed’ and the whole
theme of the song is about the punk rock scene
which is something that is very close to Frank’s
heart.
