I really love the music of Eliza Doolittle, she
is so damn talented and anyone who has heard herself
titled debut EP will know that, well she is now
putting the finishing touches to her debut album
which is due for release on the 12th July on Parlophone
Records, but in the mean time she is releasing her
brand new single ‘Pack Up’ on the 5th
July.
‘Pack Up’ is just as upbeat and smiley
as Eliza Doolittle’s previous material and
her vocals remind you instantly of those of Kate
Nash and Lily Allen, but instead of being a clone
of these artists Eliza has gone one better as
her vocals are so powerful and the overall horns,
piano and simple guitar strings gives the song
a Ronny Scott night club feeling and the random
“tweets” towards the end of the song
gives off a slight Jackson 5 Motown feeling and
not to mention the fantastic George Henry Powell
sample of “Pack Up Your Troubles In Your
Old Kit Bag, running in such style.
By the end of the year Eliza Doolittle will come
out of her little bubble and be one of the most
talked about new female solo artists, especially
with the fact that her well anticipated debut
album is just around the corner.
5/5
