Fellow Alternative Vision reviewer Thom has been
telling me for a few months now how good Kyte are
and it has taken me until now to finally check them
out with the lucky job of releasing their brand
new single ‘Designed For Damage’.
I will be honest from the start ‘Designed
For Damage’ is too mellow and dreamy sounding
for my liking but at the same time I can appreciate
the talent that Kyte have and they fact that ‘Designed
For Damage’ is a beautiful sounding song
and quite solid at the same time.
The single features three B-sides which happen
to be ‘I’ll Follow Dreams For You,
‘The Lost Blood’ and ‘Memories’
and each and every single one of these songs follow
the same dreamy sounding formula sounding all
so similar and very much like they are going to
help you drift off to sleep, but once again at
the same time you can see that Kyte are musical
geniuses but they have a sound that not everyone
is going to understand and love a bit like Coldplay
really in that sense.
Overall I feel Kyte are going to go far, they
are progressing quite well at the moment and have
some quality songs, the only downside is their
music isn’t for everyone.
3/5
