Not what I was expecting – a female-fronted
indie electronica kinda thing. Although, every fibre
in my body hopes the rest of the material is a bit
indier than this, because this is on the cusp of
becoming something you'd here out in a club somewhere.
But no, it's a pretty cool sound. Lots of synths
provide the various undertones to a more than tuneful,
a little bit sexy vocal – but yeah, if you
don't like synths then you won't like this. It's
a fairly simple beat, a load of synths doing different
things, and the vocals. Some are high and sweeping,
some are cut up and distorted, and some are deep
and funky. It's nicely layered though and has a
really nice texture – and is quite catchy.
But, in the sense that you'll be humming the chorus
for a while afterwards. You won't remember any of
the words to sing along, but the melody itself,
the chord progression itself, is very memorable.
4/5
