I understand Stars And sons have been getting a
lot of praise from Jonathan Ross, Huw Stephens and
Zane Lowe recently, the band are led by Mike Lord
a man who though his future remained working at
Colchester Zoo until he turned to much and formed
Stars And Sons and has never looked back since.
Stars And Sons release their latest single ‘If
It’s Good For Me’ on the 12 April,
the song is a piano driven song which starts off
with some pretty good groove, the song features
many different twists and turns taking you on
an upbeat journey, the vocals are extremely cheery
with some constant backing vocals of “baa,
baa, baa, baa” with a some a nifty guitar
solo coming in moments after the backing vocals.
The song features 3 different remixes and they
are fun to listen to once or twice but anything
after that the enjoyment starts to dry out whilst
the main quality is enjoyed in the main A-side
version of the song.
I really can’t comment on what success
Stars And Sons are going to find as it is early
days yet but they do have a fun summery sound
that you just can’t not like.
4/5
