You have to love Motion City Soundtrack just for
the fact that the artwork for their latest single
‘Her Words Destroyed My Planet’ features
a cute looking dinosaur sat on a planet reading
a book whilst lots of rockets and bombs are being
blasted at him, however there are more good points
about the band other than their current artwork
as they have been going since 1997 and in that time
have released 3 cracking albums with a four just
around the corner.
The bands forth album ‘My Dino Life’
is due for release on the 22nd March but in the
mean time they are releasing their new single
‘Her Words Destroyed My Planet’ and
the song is an fantastic melodic rock song, which
opens with tasty sounding guitar riffs, loud and
clear vocals but it’s about 20 seconds into
the song when things start to get going and the
band go on a massive jamming session which ticks
every box of the how to be a rock star form. The
chorus is extremely melodic and overall the song
is quickly going to become a fan favourite on
the live circuit.
If you own any of the back catalogue of Motion
City Soundtrack then you are going to love this
song and will also be counting down the days to
the release of their brand new album, the song
sounds like a mix of Weezer crossed with New Found
Glory and I personally can’t find a fault
within it.
5/5
