Dakota are a new four piece band on the scene and
they have taken their name from the New York building
where John Lennon lived and died, anyway the band
are releasing their debut album ‘Heart And
Soul’ on the 29th March but in the mean time
they are releasing their new single ‘We Get
Along’.
When I first put ‘We Get Along’ on
I thought it sounded a bit too much like a lame
boy band song for my liking but after a couple
more listens I have realised how good ‘We
Get Along’ is and how Dakota have the potential
to go far in the indie scene. The song is incredible
emotional sounding with front man Ben Talbot delivering
his vocals in a style that most singers could
only dream of, the guitars are uplifting and sweep
through at such a beautiful pace.
It may well be early days for Dakota but if the
rest of their debut album is as uplifting and
emotional sounding as ‘We Get Along’
then they are going to have a very positive 2010.
4/5
