Moloken are a four piece dark and dirty metal band
from Sweden the band have been together since 2007
and released their debut EP ‘We All Face The
Dark Alone’ back in 2008 and since then they
have been busy touring across Europe and working
on their debut album ‘Our Astral Circle’
which is now here.
‘Our Astral Circle’ is an album which
takes a lot of time and effort to get into, the
album runs for a massive 54 minutes with the shortest
track on the album running for 3minutes and 43seconds
and the longest running for 12minutes and 24seconds
and the songs throughout the whole album are quite
progressive and epic in length whilst packing
a massive doomy punch.
The album opens with ‘Molten Pantheon’
which starts off with some heavy bass sounds which
kicks off a massive force of vibrations and distortion,
the guitar riffs are quite big and raw sounding
whilst the vocals are big loud dirty growls which
are sure to give you an headache before the album
is up.
The longer the album goes on the more your interest
within the music of Moloken will slip away as
it does run for far too long and despite being
quite a heavy progressive album you feel that
Moloken lost their creative ways during the planning
stage of the album as there are three tracks named
“Untitled” which must of took a lot
of thought and once you have heard a couple of
tracks you have heard pretty much all that Moloken
have to offer you.
And another downside is that one of the band
members look like Ronan Keating from Boyzone with
a massive beard now that is about as cool as the
actual album.
2/5
