Far reformed back in 2008 with their original line
up, they played a few shows across the world and
put out a cover version Ginuwine’s R&B
hit ‘Pony’, which was downloaded so
frequently in America that their website traffic
soared, Far have now decided to release ‘Pony’
in England on the 1st February on picture disc which
is limited to just 500 copies which are bound to
sell out pretty damn fast.
Anyone who listened to R&B back in the 90’s
would have heard the original version of Pony
as to be fair R&B was in the in thing back
in the 90’s and no matter where you turned
R&B songs would be gracing the airwaves, well
the Far cover of the song is pretty similar to
the original version, it has that R&B feel
about it but with funky guitar riffs and to be
fair it sounds so perfect in rock format, seriously
who would ever think a song by Ginuwine would
make a great rock cover.
The b-side to the single is an acoustic version
of ‘Pony’ and it sounds more stripped
down and real, I love acoustic music and I love
this cover version and even more so in acoustic
format.
At the moment Far are currently putting the finishing
touches to their first album since they reformed
back in 2008 and I am sure the release of ‘Pony’
will keep you entertained until the album is out
later this year.
