Album Review
Alexisonfire - CrisisAlexisonfire - Crisis

Alexisonfire are back with a brand new album 'Crisis' which has been released on Vagrant Records. I have always been a big fan of Alexisonfire and was pretty excited when I got my hands on their third full length album 'Crisis' especially knowing Vagrant Records are behind this release.

'Crisis' is a fast and energetic screamo album from start to finish and has many more mature songs rather than singing about random things. The production sounds better on this album than on the bands previous albums. However, the heaviness is still there but with a lot of melodic moments added.

'Drunks, Lovers, Sinners And Saints' opens up the album fast and furious with so much energy and angry screamo vocals and from this moment you instantly know you’re in for a good album. 'This Could Be Anywhere in the World' is another stunning song which sounds oddly similar to Killswitch Engage in places and shows more of the bands metal side. 'Mailbox Arson' starts off with some heavy drumming and then jumps straight into the screamo vocals the band are known for.

My favourite song on the album is 'Boiled Frogs' which has a mixture of different singing which fits in so well and gives the band a whole new sound, a sound I really like. The album also has a few odd moments such as the intro to 'You Burn First' which has a really eerie sound with mellow whiney singing over the top of it, the song itself is mellow but scary sounding. The rest of the album is just as good as the start of the album as every song is good in its own way.

Once the album is finished it leaves you wanting more and you find yourself listening to the album again and again. The band has changed their sound a bit and for the better and I am sure the hardcore fans will agree.

5/5
