Fight Like Apes have a sound which is suited to
the Japanese electronic poppy-punk market but that
could be down to the fact that the bands brand new
single ‘Lend Me Your Face’ has been
remixed by Japanese electro indie outfit 80Kidz
which is going to help Fight Like Apes take the
Japanese market by storm.
‘Lend Me Your Face’, is a fast, bouncy,
upbeat poppy punk song that is crammed full of
big synthesised sounds and really repetitive yet
melodic female vocals, the song gets you buzzing
from start to finish, the second remix version
of the song is just as good but on for a little
bit longer.
The second track on the release is ‘Do
you Karate?’ the song starts off with some
massive drum beats and soon takes you on a melodic
journey as MayKay’s vocals come in loud,
clear and fast, she sings about liking stars,
frogs and would you believe it even karate, yes
the lyrics are very random but they are fun and
sound so good with MayKay’s hectic vocals.
I have been listing to this ‘Fight Like
Apes’ single nonstop since I have received
it and I love everything about it as it is a big
bundle of melodic fun.
4/5
