Death Before Dishonour are a hardcore band hailing from Boston who have
recently got signed to Bridge Nine records. The bands sound is fast and
heavy hardcore music. The bands new EP release, 'Friends, Family, Forever'
is being released upon us in December, and the EP features seven songs that
have been re-mastered, along with two songs from a limited edition split
7", an unreleased song and six songs of the band captured live at CBGB's
in New York City.
In ways Death before Dishonour sound similar to Hatebreed with the heavy
scremo vocals and the brutal hardcore sound. The main tracks on the EP
run at less than three minutes each and sound pretty brutal, but I find
that each song sounds the same and there’s no variety it is like
I have heard it all before. The live tracks are also a bit of a let down
because it is a bad quality recording and is a lot quieter than the rest
of the CD so you have to hike the sound of your stereo up a few more notches,
but saying that the band do sound pretty energetic and brutal live and
it seems the best way you will experience Death Before Dishonour.
If you’re into your brutal hardcore bands such as Hatebreed, Blood
for Blood etc, you should check out Death Before Dishonour but don’t
be surprised if you feel you have heard it all before.
2/5
