If members of Blakfish, Enter Shikari and thisGirl
joined forces to create a super group, the outcome
would surely sound something like Everything on
Red. Their debut full length ‘Rotator’
is released in early November via Lockjaw Records,
an independent record label famed for releasing
the first recording by Muse, fancy.
Album opener ‘Rotator’ suggests that
Everything on Red have a passion for alternative
synth-pop. However, this is not a trait that is
simply regurgitated throughout the whole album,
by the time ‘Paper the Cracks’ comes
around Everything on Red have delved into the
realms of ska with great effect.
Everything on Red are a band that have potential
in abundance, there literally is something for
everyone on this record. There are enough squeaky
clean vocals, shout along choruses and melodic
breakdowns to please crowds and one day project
them into the mainstream.
With releases like this, Everything on Red can
only go from strength to strength, and they deserve
everything that is thrown their way. ‘Rotator’
is yet another great example from one of the many
sublime, up and coming UK bands.
