I am sure you have all heard of Alphabeat, it you
haven’t then basically they are a Danish pop
band from Silkeborg, they have been together since
2004 and enjoyed their biggest success during 2007
when they released ’Fascination’, well
after a little time away from the music scene Alphabeat
are back and have signed a new record deal with
Polydor and are due to release their new album ‘The
Spell’ very soon and are also set to release
a single of the same name on the 19th October.
‘The Spell’, is what you have come
to expect from Alphabeat, it is proper cheesy
European pop music that has that catchy dance
beat and club feeling about it, the beat and vibe
the single gives off reminds me of ‘Clothes
Off’ by Gym Class Heroes even though at
the same time the song is nothing like it what-so-ever,
the song does bring that late eighties dance feel
into the twenty first century and is a song that
you will either love or want to hide from.
Alphabeat are not a band for everyone but I am
sure that after a few drinks everyone will be
busting as grove on the dance floor to cheesy
sounds of this three piece.
3/5
